BILL WRIGHT
at Le Mondrian
1985

I met Bill Wright in the 80s when I was Art Director of The Advocate magazine. He was a charming man with a lovely tenor voice and a nice way with a lyric. Bill died of AIDS in the early 90s, and my partner Jolino beautifully designed his last album, shortly before his death. I have always felt that I could have been a better friend, and will always feel this regret. For this, I apologize, Bill, even though it is too late. This poster was done in the year that my good friend and great genius, Richard Amsel, died of this horrid disease. —David Byrd
